GoofyImage is a dog photography service founded by Wendy Lam, a Photographer/Licensed Social Worker and Franz, a Goofball/Supermodel Weimaraner. Wendy believes that the key to capturing the canine's unique characteristics and personality is to form a positive connection with the dog, very much like her social work practice with children and youth. Her main concern is to provide a comfortable, safe and fun experience for all her goofy supermodels. Wendy studied photography and psychology at the Univeristy of Michigan and moved to NYC shortly after graduation. She was fortunate enough to jumpstart her photography career almost immediately when she landed a photographer's assistant position at Saturday Night Live which quickly led her into the glamorous fashion industry. She was living the New York dream. However, it did not quite fulfill her. After some careful consideration, she decided to take a completely different path and went to graduate school for social work at NYU. Over the years, she has combined her passions and skills by utilizing photography as a therapeutic tool to help children and youth explore their individualities and creativity. Later, she shared her joy of Goofyimage with her young clients by teaching them how to photograph dogs and created Project Pawsitive. Wendy's work has been displayed all over New York City and published in New York Dog, Time Out, Spin, Anicom Pafe, etc. in the U.S. and Japan. Her book, Dog Stars, was published by Viking Studio, Penguin Group. Wendy and Franz have also participated in several charitable photography auctions including The Door at Christie's; Incarnation Children's Center at The Gap's benefit; and the Tsunami Relief through SPICE sponsored by Architecture for Humanity. |
