GoofyImage is a special dog photography service created by Wendy Lam, a Photographer/Licensed Social Worker and Franz Kafka, a Goofball/Supermodel Weimaraner. Wendy believes that the key to capturing the canine's unique characteristics and personality is to form a connection with him/her. Her main concern is to provide a safe and fun experience for all her goofy supermodel clients. Prior to GoofyImage, Wendy worked for years in the Fashion and Entertainment Industries in NYC until she decided to take a completely different path and went to Social Work School at NYU in 1996. Over the years, she has always strived to find innovative therapeutic approaches to help children and youth explore their individualities and creativity through photography and other arts. Finally, in 2006, she combined all three of her passions (dogs, photography and social work) and created a counseling program, Project Pawsitive, that brought together the healing dynamic of pet therapy and creative enjoyment of photography to help youth gain increased emotional well-being by forming meaningful connections with trained assisted therapy dogs. Wendy's work has been displayed all over New York City and published in magazines in the U.S. and Japan. She and Franz have participated in several charitable photography auctions including The Door at Christie's; Incarnation Children's Center at The Gap's benefit; and the Tsunami Relief through SPICE sponsored by Architecture for Humanity. Her book, Dog Stars, was published by Viking Studio, Penguin Group. |
